The Cameroon GCE Board has released the results of the 2025 Technical and Vocational Education Examination (TVEE) – Intermediate Level, revealing significant achievements across multiple technical and commercial institutions nationwide.

Out of thousands of candidates registered across dozens of centres, several schools recorded exceptional pass rates, while others struggled with lower outcomes.

Top Performers:

Christ the King College in Tiko achieved a flawless 100% pass rate, with all eight registered candidates successfully passing their exams. KOM Comprehensive High School, Anyajua, followed closely with a 93.75% pass rate, and Government Technical High School Kumbo posted an impressive 86.96% pass rate.

City College of Commerce Mankon and Comprehensive High School Bambui also stood out, boasting pass rates of 75.68% and 75.00%, respectively.

Largest Exam Center:

Government Technical High School Buea once again emerged as the largest center, registering 723 candidates, of which 321 passed, translating to a 47.21% pass rate. While the success rate was lower than top-performing schools, the sheer volume of candidates and diversity of specialties remain noteworthy.

Technical Trades in Focus:
The exams covered a wide range of specialties including Civil Engineering, Accounting, Electrical Power Systems, Automobile Repair Mechanics, Bespoke Tailoring, Marketing, Carpentry and Joinery, and Secretarial Administration. Civil Engineering – Building Construction continued to attract large enrollment numbers, with dozens of candidates passing at centers like Government Technical High School Nkwen and Institut Tonji in Douala.

Notable Sanctions:
Some centers, such as Bamenda External and Government Technical High School Kumba, recorded sanctions (3 and 36 respectively), indicating issues during the examination process, although the nature of these infractions was not detailed in the report.

Gender Representation and Vocational Diversity:
Female candidates made notable strides in traditionally male-dominated fields such as Electrical Power Systems and Civil Engineering. Meanwhile, specialties like Home Economics and Secretarial Administration maintained strong female representation.

Overall Trends:
While many urban and mission-run schools showcased high pass rates, some public schools, especially in high-density centers, recorded lower performance. For instance, Cameroon College of Commerce Kumba reported just a 21.05% pass rate.

The results reflect both the successes and ongoing challenges in Cameroon’s technical and vocational education sector. Stakeholders have praised improvements in certain areas but emphasized the need for more support, particularly for underperforming institutions.
