The president of the North-West Chapter of the Cameroon Association of English-speaking Journalists, Ndi Tsembom Elvis has issued an alert to all journalists in the region after Neba Jerome was held in custody at the Bamenda Central Police Station against his will.
The Alert says that some police officers, who were on board a private car, had an issue with the driver of a taxi that had onboard Neba Jerome and his colleagues on August 24.
When Neba tried to intervene, the police officers collected his national ID card. When he showed up this Wednesday, August 25, 2021, to retrieve his ID card, he was immediately detained on grounds that he insulted officers of the law.
