Over a dozen killed in military-Amba exchange in Batibo

Over a dozen Amba fighters were reportedly killed in Batibo, North West Region by the military, on the night of July 30, 2022.

This, sources state, was following a fierce battle that occurred between both parties in Enyoh and Ewah villages.

Sources revealed to MMI that the first battle “… took place in Enyoh village where 2 amba boys were killed, in the night of 30th”.

A woman was said to have received bullets on both legs and is currently battling between life and death in hospital. Many houses were equally burnt to ashes, following the fight.

“After a fierce battle, amba boys withdrew and went to their camp in Ewah village, not knowing that the military had surrounded the place” our source narrated.

Th source furthered that, “at about 3 am, The military attacked and killed about nine.”

This time, more persons were killed. “The battle in Enyoh was strong because they were facing each other.” But in Ewah, a neighboring village, the boys had gotten tired and were sleeping when the military surrounded them.

Reports revealed that, some soldiers were equally neutralized in the confrontation. However, the exact number of military casualties is uncertain at the moment.

“The military helicopter has been moving in and out of Ewah village. It is believed it is carrying dead military corpses.” our source disclosed.

It should be recalled that Ewah is the stronghold of feared ‘general’ Efang.

Government propaganda social media outlets have been displaying weapons said to have been retrieved in the bloody exchange. They also shared gory images of some of the supposed victims.
