PAP urges Southern Cameroonians to denounce ‘controversial’ national day

The Popular Action Party, PAP has addressed Cameroonians on today’s commemoration of the national day, calling for a boycott.

The call was made by the party’s Secretary General, Fabrice Lena who addressed what he termed “the death of Cameroon-ness in diversity”.

“Every Southern Cameroonian must denounce and reject this historical black day. The day of acceleration of the assimilation agenda. The day the the people were manoeuvred by the yes or oui question coupled with the rigging machinations already installed” Lena stated.

The PAP Scribe noted that there has over the years, been a calculated long term marginalization, subjugation and systemic absorption.

“Wherefore, we must by some disposition present a realistic, attainable, agreeable goal in a consensual consultative conclusive report. This is why we have to discuss amongst ourselves” he urged.

To Lena, a discourse to seek solutions to Cameroon’s issues cannot be facilitated by the regime in place.

“Mr Biya,” he noted, “cannot be trusted with any process of our healing program. Even if he offers to us the keys to heaven, it should be questioned, there must be a machievelic plan behind it. We are on our own”.

“We must talk now. The process is unfolding, contact us, join us. Let’s be the final actors of the ultimate change. Let the Sovereign Will of the People of Southern Cameroon prevail” Lena went on, noting that it is also essential to “…accept the outcome of our own decisions”.

He adds: “Let’s be tolerant to ourselves, at least before Justice, bring the unjust man closer and during truth and reconciliation, condenm him accordingly, unbiased”.

Lena’s call comes at a time the fight between soldiers and separatists in the Anglophone regions of the country seems to be in a stalemate with no solution in sight.

Thousands have been killed and many more displaced.

Despite multiple pleas, government and separatists whose leaders are jailed in Yaoundé remain at loggerheads.
