A passenger travelling on a high-speed ICE train from Hanover to Munich in Germany made a surprising discovery after finding a bag containing €15,000 (over nine million FCFA) in cash left on a seat.
The 33-year-old woman found the bag on Sunday, March 23, 2025, and immediately notified the police. When the train arrived at the Munich train station, she met security officers who carefully counted the cash. The haul was made up entirely of €200 bills.
So far, no one has come forward to claim the money. Investigators remain uncertain about how long the bag had been on the train before it was found.
Finder’s Reward Possible
Under German law, the woman may be entitled to a finder’s fee if the money remains unclaimed. However, for now, the police have taken custody of the bag while the investigation continues.
This unusual find has sparked curiosity, with authorities hoping the rightful owner will step forward soon.
