Cameroon’s head of government has regretted prolong administrative laxity in the country by members of the government in the implementation of projects initiated by President Paul Biya.

In a video conference Wednesday, December 30th, 2020, to mark the last cabinet meeting for the year 2020, Prime Minister Dr. Joseph Dion Ngute says projects to benefit Cameroonians are often not executed living Cameroonians to suffer.

To the head of government, such an attitude should not repeat itself in 2021. He recommends individual and collective efforts by ministers to execute projects and better living conditions.

The indignation of PM Dion Ngute comes few weeks after members of government defended respective budgets at the national assembly and the senate for 2021 promising to execute several projects.

Cameroonians are questioning why the PM has not demanded members of the government to refund the money they took from the state after failing to implement projects.

To commentators, Dion Ngute’s statement is pointing accusing fingers at ministers for Cameroon’s seemingly stagnant position in development.

The statement of PM Dion Ngute to ministers, some political commentators think, point to the direction of areas president Paul Biya may definitely address in his end-of-year message to Cameroonians on Thursday, December 31st, 2020.

In a recap of outings of ministers on the media and social media in the year 2020, Dion Ngute without calling names cautioned members of the government in the use of social media and statements on the media.

The Minister of Public Health, Dr. Manaouda Malachie reechoed calls for the continuous respect of COVID-19 preventive measures.
