Public Health Minister bans importation, production, distribution of some cosmetic products

Public Health Minister, Dr. Manaouda Malachie has banned the importation, production, and distribution of cosmetic products containing some bleaching agents.

The information was contained in a release signed yesterday August 19, 2022, by Dr Manaouda Malachie.


According to the release, products containing hydroquinone and its derivatives, mercury and its derivatives and corticosteroids are henceforth banned across the territory.

According to article one of the release, “… remain prohibited, from the date of signature of this decision, the import, manufacture and distribution of cosmetic and personal hygiene products containing the following substances: Hydroquinone and its derivatives, mercury and its derivatives and corticosteroids.”
