Ferdinand Ndifor has raised concerns about a disparity in the allocation of Cameroon’s Public Investment Budget (PIB), pointing out that the North West has only been allocated FCFA 145 billion in three years while the Dja-et-Lobo division in the South region has been allocated 162.9 billion within the same three years.

Ndifor filed a letter to Members of Parliament and Senators of Northwest origin, urging them to consider advocating for a more proper budgetary allocation for the region.

“How can members of the Dja-et-Lobo Division with 350,000 inhabitants be allocated FCFA 162,980,739,000 for three years while you from the Northwest with 1.9 million inhabitants and seven divisions can only obtain FCFA 145,935,180,000 for the same period?” Ferdinand Ndifor wondered in his open letter.

He charged Northwest Members of Parliament, Senators and Members of Government to defend their region as those from the Dja-et-Lobo division are doing.

Cameroon’s public investment budget for 2021 stands at 4,800 billion and the Northwest region was allocated 48.1 billion, while Dja and Lobo got 68.7 billion.
