10 corpses have reportedly been found in Chomba, a locality in the outskirts of Bamenda, North West region of Cameroon.
Locals have attributed their deaths to the army combatting separatist fighters in the country’s Anglophone regions.
“Military men stormed Chomba village in the night breaking today Tuesday, June 8, 2021, shooting innocent civilians,” an authoritative source states.
Images on social media show a number of youths shot dead, but the figures as well as the identity of their killers are yet to be confirmed by official sources.
Chomba, like many other villages in the Anglophone regions, remains a death pool for especially civilians who are often caught in cross fire and have to deal with repressive measures from both the army and separatists.
