Cameroon’s popular tech entrepreneur, Rebecca Enonchong has expressed her support for Francis Ngannou, amidst the criticisms he has faced recently.
The former UFC World heavyweight champion has been mocked by many Cameroonians for poorly singing Cameroon’s national anthem at the Havard Business School in the US.
Rebecca Enonchong has since defended Francis Ngannou in a tweet, insisting that the MMA fighter owed Cameroonians nothing after his travails to make it to the top and be a great asset to the country.
“While you were in school learning to recite the anthem, the guy was in the sand mines for a living. He literally crossed the desert. But some attack him from the top of a pedestal of privilege. He owes us nothing.” she tweeted.
Several other Cameroonians like Martin Camus Mimb have recently also backed the fighter, adding that the mistakes he made change nothing from what he has achieved so far.
