The President of the Cameroon Football Federation, FECAFOOT, Samuel Eto’o Fils, has convened an ordinary session of the Executive Committee of FECAFOOT.
According to reports, the session aims to address recent setbacks the federation has experienced.
The meeting between the federation executives will be held at the Shalom Hotel in Garoua, on Monday, September 11, 2023.
This convention comes amidst a series of quarrels within the federation, with some stakeholders demanding the resignation of Samuel Eto’o as President of the federation.
Eto’o is currently under investigation by the Confederation of African Football, CAF, after being accused of “improper conduct” by several football stakeholders in Cameroon.
In a CAF-issued statement announcing the ongoing probe into Eto’o’s conduct, CAF said it had received several complaints from some stakeholders accusing the FA boss of match-fixing and corruption.
The former indomitable lion’s striker is also seen to have lost credibility, after having most of his decisions taken earlier as FECAFOOT President, overturned by the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS).
Among a number of reversed decisions by Eto’o were the reinstatement of the Cameroon Professional Football League and its President, General Pierre Semengue, and former FECAFOOT exco, Guibai Gatama.
