Samuel Eto’o, president of the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT), was received earlier yesterday by the President of the Transitional government of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE.
He was present in Ouagadougou as part of the final of the Burkina Faso Cup, he discussed with the Head of State about the potential growth of Football in Burkina Faso.
“Thank you to the President of the transition, his Excellency Ibrahim Traoré for his audience, to the Minister of Sports in Burkina, and to the President of the Burkinabe Federation, Lazare Banssé, who invited me to this beautiful celebration of Burkinabe football, We love this Africa!” Eto’o wrote on his social media pages.
It is not clear what the two talked about during their private session, but many speculate it would have revolved around football.
Ibrahim Traore has been sworn in as interim president of Burkina Faso, following the removal of Paul-Henri Sandaogo Damiba in a coup.
Traore took the oath of office in the city Ouagadougou under tight security on Friday, promising support for a transition up to elections in July 2024.
