Cameroon’s Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Mouelle Kombi Narcisse has debunked information stipulating that the post of President of the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) is vacant.
The refutation was made public through a release signed by Gabriel Noga, a senior journalist:
“Information from a Cameroonian social media activist evokes an alleged referral to the governing bodies of football by the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education to note the vacancy of power at the Presidency of the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT),” he stated.
He proceeded by informing the public that”… he has not approached the Confederation of African Football (CAF) or the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) on this subject.”
He reiterated that the information circulated was incorrect and completely misleading.
Samuel Eto’o, therefore, remains at the head of FECAFOOT.
