Eight members of the Cameroon Renaissance Movement political party have been freed after spending about 2 years in different detention centers.

Hailing from Sangmelima, a town in the South Region of Cameroon, the ex-convicts expressed their determination to move ahead despite their incarceration.

“I am here in Sangmelima and I have taken a bus to move ahead,” disclosed one of the ex-convicts of the CRM.

Weubass Pierre who equally happened to be an ex-convict narrated their ordeal throughout their two years of detention.

“We were locked up in three prisons; Mfu prison, where we spent six months and eleven days; Yoko prison where we spent 2 months, eleven days, and the Yaounde principal prison where we spent 16 months, 4 days,” he disclosed.

They went ahead to thank the leader of their Party, Maurice Kamto, as they promised to continue the fight for the liberation of Cameroon.
