A pregnant woman by name Abeng is reported to have died in a motor accident while on her way to put to birth in Sangmelima, chief town of the Lobo division in the South Region of Cameroon.

The woman said to be a nurse at L’hôpital de référence de Sangmelima boarded a taxi to the hospital when the tragic incident occurred.

According to reports, their taxi was violently hit by a speeding truck. Reports indicate that both the mother and the baby died on the spot.

Family members of the young woman have remained inconsolable following the sudden demise of their daughter and baby.
