The National Secretariat General of the Social Democratic Front, SDF, has warned party scribes against washing dirty linens in public.
In a communiqué signed Thursday by the party’s Secretary-General, Senator Jean Tsomelou, militants are cautioned not to take internal issues to the media.
“Any act that takes internal divergent views of the Party to the media or public space shall henceforth be considered deliberate action intended to destroy the Party and demoralize its members,” the communiqué reads.
The caution is followed by a signal of sanctions to every defaulter. “…every person involved in such scandal shall be exposing themselves to sanctions,” the communiqué furthers.
Following the trend of events within the SDF lately, the outing of the party’s Secretary-General is not unconnected to the scuffle between Hon. Jean Michel Nintcheu and Hon. Joshua Osih.
The two are members of the National Assembly from the Littoral, eyeing the position of National Chairman as the resignation of the current National Chairman, Ni John Fru Ndi is awaited.
Hon. Nintcheu is the Regional Chairman of the party for the Littoral. Hon Osih on the other hand is the party’s National Vice-Chairman and Questor at the National Assembly.
On March 21, Hon. Nintcheu in his capacity as Regional Chairman served his rival, Hon. Osih article 8.2 of the party’s internal rules for joining CPDM MPs to sign a petition against US Lawmakers who had earlier petitioned the government of Cameroon for poor management of the Anglophone crisis.
Reacting in a media outing a day later, Hon. Osih refuted knowledge of any such decision taken by the regional bureau of the party on grounds that he was not invited to the meeting that took the decision.
The whole thing began when Osih appended his signature to a petition sent to the US senators about Cameroon asylum-seekers in the US and only Osih signed from the SDF.
