SDO Says All Set For Hitch Free 20th May Celebration in Meme

By Amina Hilda.

The Senior Divisional Officer for the Meme Division has urged stakeholders to work hard towards the successful celebration of the 50th edition of the National Day celebration.

He was speaking during a preparative meeting which took place at the Kumba I council chambers.

The SDO has called on the mayors of the various kumba council areas to encourage proper hygiene and sanitary conditions.

He went further to encourage the heads of the educational sectors, be it primary, secondary or higher institutions, to ensure effective participation in the celebration of the national day.

” we have mobilized ourselves in this conference hall of the Kumba I council, in order to tell the whole population of the Meme to gather themselves inorder to offer a wonderful celebration of the 20th May within the Meme Division.” chamberlain Tundong said.

During the meeting, the SDO also charged the electricity and water supply companies to take measures against any possible hitches on the day of the 20th May celebration.

He has assured the population of utmost security measures to be taken, vis-a-vis the ongoing anglophone crisis plaguing the North and South West Regions of Cameroon.

His words, “I know the task will not be easy, let them gather courage to work hard to mobilize themselves and make sure we have a very wonderful celebration here in Meme.”

It should be noted that the National Day has not been celebrated for the past two years through out Cameroon, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
