Security Forces Allegedly Kill Two in Kumba

Two young men have reportedly been shot dead by security elements in Kumba Town neighbourhood in Kumba, chief town of Meme Division.

The incident is said to have occurred this afternoon at about 2:00pm.

Reports we gathered have it that the military invaded a popular weed smoking point in the locality.

The two guys whose names we cannot confirm for now were gunned down severally as they attempted to flee towards the CPDM party house and the public tap at the area, we learned.

Inhabitants of Kumba, it should be noted, have been undergoing severe harassment and attacks from unknown persons demanding for support for the on-going anglophone crisis.

Many Kumba inhabitants are of the opinion that it is such weed consumers who had resorted to constant harassment of the population.

To recall is the fact that the Ntoko street neighbourhood in Fiango was raided by unknown persons demanding for support last week.

It is said that phones, laptops, money and other valuables from inhabitants of the area were carted away.

An inhabitant of the area told Mimi Mefo Info that a powerful vigilante group has been setup in the area to curb such harassment.

This is the same case with those of Lido Street, who have also setup a strong vigilante group to check insecurity and nocturnal attacks from unknown persons.
