Madagascar’s President, Andry Rajaolina says Senegal has ordered the traditional treatment he is using to treat COVID-19 in his country.
This was revealed after a chat between Senegal’s President Macky Sall and President Andry of Madagascar.
Both leaders later took to social media to laud the newly established health cooperation. “Long live Africa and its natural wealth” tweeted President Andry.
President Macky Sall on his part said it was fruitful and focused “on sharing experiences and good practices in the fight against COVID-19.”
Prepared by the Malagascan Institute for applied research, IMRA, the remedy is being distributed free of charge to the less privileged and sold at an affordable price for others. With over a hundred COVID-19 cases, Madagascan authorities say some 60 persons have been treated using the remedy.
The World Health Organization however maintains that there is no known cure for the virus yet.
