Barely one day after Ambazonian fighters attacked and dismantled a military base in Mamfe, South West Region of Cameroon, a similar attack has been carried out along the Bamenda-Mbengwi road.
MMI’s reporter in the North West Region has confirmed that Separatist fighters have detonated an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) partially destroying an armoured car on the Bamenda-Mbengwi road.
It remains unclear whether casualties were recorded — as authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the attack.
For six years, Separatists in Cameroon have been fighting for an independent state called’Ambazonia’.
The conflict has claimed thousands of lives, displaced over one million people amid growing humanitarian need among those affected.
