By David Atangana

Four civilians have reportedly been killed and several others injured in Ikiliwindi, mile 12 in Meme division of the restive South West region, MMI has learnt.

Local witnesses say the act was perpetrated by soldiers in retaliation of an attack carried out by separatist fighters some days back.

“The military has killed four civilians and injured many today the 26th July 2022 at ikiwindi mile 12” an eye witness told MMI adding that, “this was after they were attacked there by separatists on the 24th July 2022”

According to independent findings by MMI , SOCADEF, an armed separatist militia in Matoh commanded by ‘General’ Transporter launched attack against the defense and security forces on July 24″.

A footage obtained by MMI show armed separatist fighters in combat with the military.

“This is SOCADEF, Matoh led by General Transporter”, a voice is overheard in a video showing armed separatist parading a location amidst thunderous gunshots.

It is not known whether any casualties were recorded on either side.

Observers say it has become a routine for soldiers to descend on the local population each time they are attacked by armed separatists.
