The South West and North West Women’s Task Force, SNWOT has questioned the decision by separatists to call for a three-day total lockdown of the two regions.
In an outing on Monday June 22 2020, SNWOT called on separatists to consider the plight of the people of the North West and the South West each time a lockdown is being imposed on the population.
They called for actions concerning the wellbeing of the Anglophone populations to be made on the basis of empathy for the people.
SNWOT maintains that the lockdown strategy so often used by the separatists to settle scores with government has only served in drowning the people in pain and misery.
Having to deal with the continuous marginalisation from the francophone, together with the unending demands of the separatists as well as the military, the Anglophone population in both regions are left in an absolutely frustrated state.
The South West and North West Women’s Task Force as a nonpartisan group, say they applaud any actions from wherever it comes from, that seeks to reconstruct, rehabilitate and build social cohesion within the restive regions.
“We understand actions that will contribute in improving the living conditions of the affected population, especially those in the bushes or host communities, as well as refugees,” they wrote in their statement.
SNWOT in a plea to parties involved in the armed struggle in the two regions has urged them to include the wellbeing and development of the ailing population in their plans of action and make it a priority, especially with the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic that has affected the whole nation.
