The football final unfolded at the Limbe Centenary Stadium, while the female handball team secured their victory at Government Bilingual High School Limbe. These events marked the electrifying start of the highly anticipated national FENASSCO League A Games, currently underway in the coastal town of Limbe.
Adding to the momentous occasion, Professor Nalova Lyonga, Minister of Secondary Education, graced the Centenary Stadium with her presence to present the trophies alongside esteemed regional dignitaries.
Prior to the captivating football match, Minister Lyonga, along with her counterpart, Professor Narcisse Mouelle Kombi, Minister of Sport and Physical Education, unveiled a symbolic Olympic monument constructed at the Government High School in Limbe. This unique structure, boasting five distinct features, served as a beautiful blend of Fako culture, education, and local geography.
Following the unveiling ceremony, Minister Lyonga received the Olympic flames and entrusted them to Limbe’s City Mayor, Paul Efome Ngale. These flames will burn brightly throughout Limbe until the culmination of the tournaments on April 9th.
Expressing his gratitude, Mayor Ngale acknowledged the Minister’s significant contributions to the region and warmly welcomed the influx of visitors who will have the opportunity to witness both the exceptional athletic talent on display and the captivating tourist attractions Limbe has to offer.
