Teacher-led Gang Arrested in Nkongsamba

In an operation launched by the Gendarmerie in the Littoral Region’s Nkongsamba, a gang of thugs specialized in highway robbery and kidnappings was apprehended and detained.

At the head of this group is a 32-year-old individual who happens to be a school teacher by profession and training.

The operation launched by the Gendarmes recovered some stolen items from this group including 3 bags of rice, 3 bags of flour, 6 boxes of house tiles, 27 pairs of new shoes, cloths, detergent, blankets, a 32 inch TV, 1 laptop, 1 amplifier and 2 large speakers.

According to elements of the Nkongsamba Gendarmerie, it was somehow due to the recklessness of the leader of the gang, the teacher which helped in apprehending the gang.

The teacher had reportedly indulged in indiscriminate selling of these goods that drew suspicions. Upon apprehension it was realized that the gang’s main victims are truck drivers, whom they intercept on the highway when they slow down around speed bumps.
