The Confederation of African Football, (CAF) has honoured Indomitable Lions’ captain, Aboubakar Vincent popularly referred to by Cameroonians as the ‘dark invader’.
This comes a few days after the player scored Cameroon’s winning goal against Brazil at the FIFA World Cup tournament.
“That lobbed finish. That exquisite header. That historic result.
That dramatic red card,” CAF wrote on its official Facebook handle, praising the player.
CAF added that: “Vincent Aboubakar will forever be part of FIFA World Cup history.”
Aboubakar Vincent early this year beat the record of scoring 5 goals in the group stage of the African Cup of Nations in the 21st Century, after Samuel Eto’o.
He was elected man of the match following their encounter with Serbia at the World Cup tournament in Qatar, which ended in a 3-3 tie.
