The campaign organised on December 8 was aimed at creating awareness and sensitising the population on their blood types and groups.
“This will be vital for them during emergencies, planning for a healthy pregnancy and also to help others in need,” said organisers of the event.
During the campaign, the student body educated the population about the various blood groups and genotypes.
“AA means your haemoglobin has a normal shape and has optimal oxygen carrying capability and its compatible with all blood groups unlike AS, SS.”
This practice on campus has helped the students of biochemistry and molecular biology to merge theories taught in class with practices.
The students subsidized the test fee of blood type to FCFA 500 per individual instead of about FCFA 2000.
