It has been a busy week in the world of scholarships. Many universities and foundations have announced their scholarships for international students for 2021. While some scholarships are fully funded, others are partially funded.
Fully funded scholarships: Fully funded scholarships are those scholarships in which the provider makes available funds for the grantee’s tuition, books, flight, a monthly stipend, and any other specified expenses. The fully-funded scholarships this week are:
- CRG International PhD Fellowship Program 2021: The Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) is an international biomedical research institute of excellence searching for international students in the fields of Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Biotechnology, Data Sciences, Health, Medicine. The deadline for applications is February 28, 2021. The study destination is Spain
- The University of Helsinki Scholarships for Non-EU/EEA Students 2021: The scholarships are intended for excellent students from outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland who want to complete a master’s program at the University of Helsinki in Finland. Applicants can study any discipline they chose. The application deadline is March 01, 2021. Study destination is Finland.
- The Erasmus Mundus Fully Funded Joint master’s degree in Aquaculture, Environment and Society Plus 2020-2021: The Erasmus Mundus Joint master’s degree in Aquaculture, Environment and Society Plus (EMJMD ACES+) will give you a unique opportunity to study in up to four centers of European excellence in aquaculture research and learning; Scotland, Crete, France and the Netherlands. The application deadline is February 15, 2021. Study areas include Culture, Environmental Policy, Environmental Studies, Humanities, Planetary Environment, Social Sciences, Sociology Scholarships are offered at the master’s level.
- The Gates Cambridge International Scholarships 2021 for International Students: Each year Gates Cambridge offers 80 full-cost scholarships to outstanding applicants from countries outside the UK to pursue a full-time postgraduate degree in any subject available at the University of Cambridge. The application deadline is January 07, 2021. Scholarships are provided at Graduate, MA, Master’s, Postgraduate, Research levels. The study destination is the UK.
5. The Orange Knowledge Scholarship Program 2021 – 2022: Provided by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Orange Knowledge Program (OKP) is a full scholarship available to professionals working in (urban) development from several developing countries. The application deadline is February 28, 2021. Scholarships are offered at master’s level and the study destination is the Netherlands.
6. The Erasmus Mundus Master Scholarships for International Students, University of Glasgow: The Erasmus Mundus scholarships can be offered to students from any region of the world. The application deadline is January 14, 2021. Scholarships are at the master’s level and applicants can study any discipline offered at the University. The study destination is the UK
- The FSMP Math in Paris Master Fellowships 2021 for International Students: The Fondation Sciences Mathématiques de Paris offers to students, selected through an online application process, some scholarships of 1 or 2 years in one of the universities of its network. Study disciplines include Mathematics, Natural Sciences. The application Deadline is January 22, 2021. Scholarships are provided at master’s level. The study destination is France.
- The Blavatnik School of Government Doctoral Scholarships 2021 for International Students: The Blavatnik School of Government-Nuffield scholarship is designed to help the University and Nuffield College attract and recruit outstanding graduate students in Public Policy. The application deadline is January 08, 2021. The study disciplines include Governance, Political Sciences, Social Sciences. The study destination is the University of Oxford in the UK.
- The Zurich University’s Graduate School of Economics PhD Fellowships: The Scholarships are open to graduates from around the world, they are awarded to candidates on the grounds of outstanding academic merit, and continuing support will be subject to satisfactory completion of course work. The application deadline is January 15, 2021. Study disciplines include Economics and Social Sciences. The study destination is Switzerland.
- Islamic Bank scholarship: The Bank funds and implements its scholarship programs as part of its overall efforts to develop the human resources of its member countries and those of the Muslim communities in non-member countries. Applications will be accepted till February 2021. The programs available are: Undergraduate, Master’s, PhD and Post-Doctoral Research Programs, IsDB-ISFD for Technical Vocational Education & Training, (TVET) IsDB-ISFD Bachelor studies and IsDB-The World Academy of Science (TWAS)
- The African Institute for Mathematical Sciences scholarship: The AIMS Structured Master’s Program runs over three semesters. The requisite skills phase of the AIMS course builds a standard core set of problem-solving skills: estimation, computation, approximation, modelling, data analysis and statistics. The application deadline is 31st March 2021.
- Johnson & Johnson Global Mental Health Scholarships: The MSc Global Mental Health course is a joint program provided by the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) and the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience, King’s College London (KCL). The program of study aims to provide students with the knowledge and skills to initiate, develop and oversee mental health programs and/or policies in low-resource settings, as well as to conduct and critically evaluate research on global mental health. The scholarship has two application deadlines: 14th February 2021 and 21st March 2021.

Partially funded scholarships: These are scholarships where the scholarship provider takes care of some of the financial expenses and the students cover the rest. The partially funded scholarships this week are:
- Joint MSc Math in Austria, France, Germany, Italy: Financed through the Erasmus Mundus program, MathMods is a 2-year Joint MSc program which can be taken in 4 EU (European Union) universities: University of L’Aquila in Italy (UAQ), Vienna University of Technology in Austria (TUW), University of Hamburg in Germany (UHH), and University of Côte d’Azur in Nice, France (UCA). The scholarship has 20 slots. Study disciplines include Engineering, Mathematics, Physics and Technology. Scholarship grantees will be hosted at the University of L’Aquila in Italy. The application deadline is the April 30th, 2021.
2. International Students Scholarship for Spring Semester 2020-2021: This is a scholarship for international students at Cyprus West University. Scholarships are provided at undergraduate level and the application deadline on the 15th January 2021.
- Amsterdam Merit Scholarships 2021: The University of Amsterdam aims to attract the world’s brightest students to its international classrooms. Outstanding students from outside the EU/EEA can apply for an Amsterdam Merit Scholarship. The scholarship deadline is April 01, 2021. Scholarships are offered at master’s level.
- The IASH-SSPS Research Fellowships for International Students: The IASH-SSPS Research Fellowships are intended to encourage outstanding interdisciplinary research, international scholarly collaboration, and networking activities of visiting Research Fellows together with academics in the School of Social and Political Science (SSPS). The study disciplines include Anthropology, Art History, Arts, Culture, History, Humanities, Social Sciences. The scholarship deadline is February 26th, 2021. The study destination is the UK.
- The KTH Royal Institute of Technology Scholarships for International Students: The scholarship program has a focus on academic excellence and sustainable development, encouraging students to contribute to a more sustainable society. The application deadline is January 15th, 2021. The study disciplines include Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Natural Sciences. The scholarships are offered at master’s level and the study destination is Sweden.
- International Graduate Funding Opportunities 2021 at Elmhurst University: Elmhurst awards merit scholarships on the basis of several factors, including academic achievement, artistic talent and membership in the United Church of Christ. The University also awards international student grants to help support the cost of tuition. The scholarship application deadline is Junly 1st 2021. The scholarship is awarded at the master’s level. The study destination is the USA.
- Women in Leadership Scholarships 2021 for international Students, University of Applied Sciences Europe: Candidates will be considered based on their motivational letter where applicants outline why they chose to apply to this program and what made them choose a career in a male-dominated field. The study disciplines include Communication Studies, Computer Sciences, Humanities, Mathematics, Media, Natural Sciences, Photography, Social Sciences, Technology. The study levels include Master’s, Postgraduate, Undergraduate The application deadline is 31st July 2021. The study destination is Germany.
- Data Science scholarships for International Students: The Office for Students has made 1,000 scholarships available across a number of Universities with the aim of increasing the number of people from underrepresented groups in the AI and data science fields. Applicants to this course at Coventry University may apply for a scholarship of £10,000, to be paid in instalments to assist students with the financial aspects of studying this degree. The scholarship application deadline is Monday 4th January 2021. The study destination is the UK.
