After a spirited fight, the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon crash out of the Africa Cup of Nations on home soil. Despite dominating for most parts of their semi final game with Egypt, and keeping Mohammed Salah quiet, Cameroon failed to convert their chances when faced with the opportunities. The Committee to Protect Journalists on Thursday, February 3, joined 26 other civil society organizations to call on President Paul Biya to release all those arbitrarily detained in Cameroon for acts of free expression, including at least four journalists. Cameroonian researcher, Alain Tchana, has been selected as one of the winners of the Francophonie Prize for Young Researchers. He is the Director of the Department of Computer Science at the Higher Teachers Training College in Lyon, France.
