By Basirou BDO

For several days, social media has been flooded with contradictory information regarding the health status of the Speaker of the National Assembly.

According to several reliable sources cross-checked on the ground, no medical evacuation to South Africa has taken place, contrary to widely circulated online rumors, spurred by Jeune Afrique.

After their visit, they stated that they found the Speaker of the National Assembly in a stable and reassuring state of health, contradicting the persistent speculation.

This investigation highlights the need—in a context marked by the virality of social media—to prioritize verified facts, on-the-ground sources, and cross-referenced information before sharing any news.
