The people of Tombel, Kupe Muanenguba division of restive South West region have staged a march against armed separatist fighters.
They were led by elements of the rapid intervention battalion, BIR, an elite force of the Cameroonian army.
During the march, the population chanted slogans obviously rehearsed, mentored by soldiers.
In a clip of the protest, soldiers are are heard saying, ‘Amba go’, while the population answers, ‘military cam’.
The protesters were carrying tree branches as they matched through Tombel town.
It is not known wether the population matched voluntarily or were coerced. It is also not the first time locals are rising up against separatist activities in their neighborhoods.
