Inhabitants of Douala continue to express fears over insecure clandestine transport from Rond Point Deido to different parts of the South West and West regions. Men in private cars are reported to be luring passengers to their cars to harass them at gunpoint and seize their belongings.



The Governor of the Littoral region of Cameroon has debunked information that insecurity has gained steam in Douala. In a security meeting in Douala today, Samuel Dieudonne Ivaha Diboa reassurred the public on the competence of the security service in the region, noting that they are up to the task of dealing with any possible threats.


The Social Democratic Front (SDF) says it stands for the protection of Cameroonians against Covid-19 Denis Nkemlemo, 1st national Communication Secretary of the party stresses that government has to be more open over the importance and efficiency of the Covid vaccine to reassure the skeptical population.

Two religious feasts and holidays expected in Cameroon this week. While Christians will observe Ascension day this Thursday, Muslim faithfuls will celebrate the feast of Ramadan either on Wednesday or Thursday, depending on when the moon will be seen. Some Muslim leaders and those of the Catholic Church were granted audience today by the minister of Territorial Administration ahead of their feast.

The Mayor of Bamendjou council, René Kamdoum has been confirmed dead. He died today afternoon at the ORCA COVID-19 centre.

Ibrahim el Rachidini has been named new Lamido of Garoua. His main challenger for the throne was former CAF President, Issa Hayatou. Also a soldier, Ibrahim takes over from late Alim Garga Hayatou who died weeks back.

Two vendors are on the run in Douala after allegedly stealing 32 million FCFA from their boss. The money was reportedly handed over by a client for them to give to their boss. The shop owner is said to have slumped upon getting the news and is getting medical care.
