Christians hold that the Ascension of Jesus Christ to heaven forty days after resurrection is an important spiritual event. Believers are optimistic that following the foot steps of Jesus will guarantee their Ascension too when they die.The feast of Ascension will be celebrated tomorrow.

Muslims in Kumba have received food stuff from the Mayor of the Kumba City Council for the celebration of the feast of Ramadan. Gregory Mewanu called on Muslims to embrace love to enhance a peaceful living together in Kumba.

President Paul Biya has decreed Friday, May 14, a public holiday. This has been done ahead of a dual religious feast which both fall on Thursday. While Muslims across the globe will be celebrating the feast of the Ramadan, Christians will be celebrating Ascension Day.

For the second time, the National Day in Cameroon will not witness any public celebration. This is to prevent the spread of COVID-19. This has been decreed by President Paul Biya.

Workers of National Drug Quality Control Agency are on strike in Yaounde. They are demanding months of unpaid salaries. They have accused government of unfulfilled promises made as concerns their financial situation.

President Paul Biya has today signed a decree appointing Louis Eboubeke as the new Director General of the Cameroon Port Authorities. He replaces late Joshua Youmba who died on April 28, 2021.

More distress calls have been recorded from stranded Cameroonians who have been lured to inexistent job opportunities in Mali. According to reliable sources, a latest group of Cameroonians have been held hostage in the country being pressured to lure in others to join them too.

The University of Douala has obtained a loan of 2 Billion FCFA from the UBA Bank in order to construct its Professionalization Complex at their Ndongbong Campus. A decree signed by the Prime Minister authorizing the loan deal says it will be without any guarantee from the state.

Following the dissapearance of the Fon of Oku, his son, Prince Ngum Ernest Merlin has now been enthroned to take over his father’s crown. The new Fon is a recent graduate from the University of Bamenda with a Law Degree.
