Some militants of the Social Democratic Front (SDF) have paid a condolence visit to the Sultan of Bamoun in the West Region following the death of a princess of the palace. Late Princess Rabiatou was a militant of the opposition Social Democratic Front.

The town of Mbanga in the Moungo Division, Littoral Region has been plunged into darkness following strong winds that ravaged houses and other structures in the town. Debris of roofs pulled down by the winds blocked part of the road, causing traffic. Victims haved called for help, waving aside promises of government’s assistance made by the Divisional Officer for Mbanga.


There are conflicting reactions of people in the Littoral region over taking the COVID-19 vaccine. The Governor of the Littoral region says health workers, military personnel and administrators will be the priority as the region received thirty-four thousand two hundred doses of the vaccine.


The COVID-19 vaccination campaign has been launched in the North West and South regions of Cameroon. In the South region, Governor Felix Nguele Nguele upon taking the vaccine reemphasised on the need for Cameroonians to take the vaccine.

A three-day census of 25,000 civil servants has started today in Yaounde to end on Friday, April 16. They were recruited in 2010 on instructions of President Paul Biya. Note that some of those recruited say they are not being paid their expected salaries.


Coton Sport of Garoua has defeated Canon of Yaounde three goals to zero in a delayed day six league one match. The victory places Coton Sports in the second position on the classification table, behind Panthère du Nde. The Cotonites are billed to take on JS Kabylie in a continental assignment.
