Elections Cameroon (ELECAM) says cyber measures have been taken to prevent and secure its social media platforms from cyber criminals. The body officially relaunched its social media platforms today, several months after it shutdown. In the meantime, ELECAM officials have called on Cameroonians above 20 years to register on the electoral lists before August 31st when the revision of electoral registers will be closed for this year.



The cause of a fire incident at the office of the Senior Divisional Officer of Logone and Chari today is yet to be established. Flames broke out consuming parts of the building this morning when officials were holding a meeting.


The military in Bamenda has stated that some civilians in the North West help separatists by producing explosive devices. In a security meeting today chaired by the Governor Adolph Lele L’AFRIQUE, it was stated that five civilians in connection to that were arrested in Ngokentujia Division. The military recounted their exploits in Bui division recently.


Dozens of suspected separatists have been arrested in the town of Mutengene in the South West region of Cameroon. Elements from the rapid intervention batalion, BIR stormed the town last night in the course of the operation.


Traders who sell on pedestrian paths along streets in Douala have been accused of causing accidents. Despite having chased the traders several times, the SDO for Wouri in another inspection visit today noted that traders are still selling in forbidden areas. Benjamin Mboutou has promised to return to these places with the military in the days ahead.
