Security officers in Kumba, Meme Division in the South West Region of Cameroon have launched investigations after a locally-made explosive chopped off the hands of a little girl today. Meme SDO, Chamberlain Ntou’ou Ndong visited the child in the hospital promising government’s financial assistance for her treatment.


The road linking Douala and Yabasi in the Nkam Division, Littoral Region has been repaired. A section of the road under construction collapsed last night after heavy rains, preventing vehicles from circulating.


The Governor of the Center Region has banned all public, crowd-pulling activities until further notice. The move is to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Paul Naseri Bea in a communiqué said due to the rise in COVID-19 cases and deaths, there was need for more serious measures to curb the spread.

Cameroonian Indomitable Lions take on the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde tomorrow Friday in a 5th AFCON 2021 qualification match. The Lions need a point to qualify in their group despite automatically qualifying for the tournament by virtue of being hosts. Cape Verde is third in the group with four points and needs a victory to sail through.

Security officials in Mudeka, South West Region have seized a consignment of contraband goods from some traffickers. The goods consisted of drugs and injectable ampoules. Authorities have promised more vigilance against such infiltrations especially from neighboring Nigeria.


National Electricity Distributor, ENEO says the company has lost close to 800 Million to bush fires alone in 2021. It adds that the areas most affected by such incidences are Kumba, Yabassi, Nsimalen, Nanga Eboko, and Nkongsamba.


Today, a woman was ordered to pay the sum of 5 million FCFA for cheating on her husband by a court. The case involved the ex-Director General of ENAM and his estranged wife. Mrs Nga Majolie was found guilty of extra-marital affairs in her marriage.
