Inhabitants of Muyuka in the South West Region of Cameroon say tension has resurfaced in the area as activities of separatists are paralysing income generating activities. Armed boys stormed the Muyuka Market today chasing away traders . Earlier, Council officials sealed shops of traders on pretext that they have not paid their taxes.

Over twenty people are receiving medical attention in Bafoussam following a fatal accident. A bus collided with a truck leading to the death of six people. Part of a building was equally damaged.

Leaders of the Cameroon Renaissance Movement political party are not certain if they will respect a decision of the Divisional Officer of Yaounde I banning a planned protest for next Sunday. To the DO, such a protest will further propagate the coronavirus pandemic.

The president of the National Communication Council says even the state media will not escape the wrath of sanction if professionalism is not respected. Joseph Chebonkeng and members of his team visited CRTV and other private media houses in Yaounde today.

The D.O. for Yaoundé 1 has today banned a CRM protest scheduled for July 25, advancing Covid-19 concerns as the reason for the ban. The planned protest was for an end to tribalism and for a return to peace in the Anglophone regions.

The Cameroon Government has today completed the purchase of land in Equatorial Guinea. The 10,000 square meters land is to be used to build a school with the Cameroonian pedagogy for Cameroonians and foreigners in Malabo.

A first set of Cameroonians earmarked to be deported from the UAE have reportedly been sent back to the country already. Several other Cameroonians are revealed to be detained in prison centers in Abu Dhabi for varied wrongdoings.

The U.S. has donated over 300,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccines to Cameroon. Many Cameroonians have remained critical of this gift by the U.S. given that the U.S. itself isn’t fully sure about the efficacy of the vaccine.
