Uneasy atmosphere in Mankon after killing of three youths

By Soulemanu Buba

The population of Mile six Mankon, a neighborhood in Bamenda II Sub Division of the troubled North West Region of Cameroon remain in fear following the killing if three young men.

Locals say the three were gunned down by the forces of law and order.

The liveless bodies of the boys were only discovered in the early hours of Friday August 5th, 2022 with bullet holes on them.

“We have been able to identify just one of them. We know him as a commercial biker rider. From every indication, they were arrested somewhere else, brought to Mile Six and executed,” a resident who opted for anonymity told MMI.

Since the Anglophone crisis metamorphosed in to an armed conflict in 2017, young persons have continued to lost their lives on both sides.

Government forces have killed many youths and dumped their bodies in a stream in Mulang.

Analyst say until an inclusive dailogue is held to address the current crisis, many more young persons will continue to perish on both sides.
