Another Footballing tournament, and yet another accolade for team Cameroon.
The Under-20 Lions were yesterday crowned the Champions of the UNIFFAC Cup, a competition played amongst the members of the Central African region held in Equatorial Guinea.
The U20 Lions faced off the competition at the Finals of the Tournament by thrashing the Central African Republic 3-0 courtesy of two goals from Junior Sunday and a goal from Saidou Ibrahim.
Following the end of the competition, the champions throughout the tournament had an impressive record of two wins and a draw with no defeat.
The two finalists are however automatically qualified for the upcoming U20 African Cup of Nations 2021 to be held in Mauritanian.
Despite the U20 Lions putting up a great show at the UNIFFAC Cup this year, it was however marred by the some controversy which sought to discredit the competition.
Already into the competition, the Chadian team withdrew from the tournament, putting plans of a well prepared and organised tournament into jeopardy.
Also surprising was the elimination of Congo, the DRC and Equatorial Guinea, the host country.
