A journalism trainer in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication in the University of Buea, UB, Manka’a Eileen Tabuwe, has defended her doctor of Philosophy, PhD thesis on media construction of the Anglophone crisis.
The defense session took place recently . Her thesis was on the theme:”Media Construction of the Anglophone Crisis 2016-2017: Evidence from The Post and Cameroon Tribune”. It was supervised by Professors Enoh Tanjong and Emmanuel Yenshu.
Manka’a in her work recommended the need for Cameroonian Journalists, bloggers and communicators to receive training in conflict reporting to enhance their understanding of conflict.
The jury at the PhD thesis defense was chaired by Professor Nol Alembong who is the institution’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor in charge of Teaching. The jury declared the candidate’s analysis succinct and the results acceptable and exploitable.
Members of the jury unanimously recommended her to Senate of the University of Buea for the award of a PhD in Mass Communication.
