Christine Manie, former Indomitable Lioness captain has been named by the Confederation of African Football, (CAF), as part of the TV commentary and analysis team, against the upcoming Women’s African Cup of Nations.
The appointment was made public via an official statement by the CAF, published on June 27, 2022.
It stated, “The CAF team that will form part of the build-ups and commentary for all matches includes renowned former Indomitable Lionesses’ captain Christine Manie from Cameroon, former Banyana Banyana of South Africa captain Amanda Dlamini, former Super Falcons of Nigeria goalkeeper Rachael Ayegba, and former Carthage Eagles of Tunisia’s Haifa Guedri”
This will however be the first time TV commentaries and analyses will be a part of the WAFCON competition throughout its 20 years of existence.
Christine Manie represented the Indomitable Lionesses in 7 WAFCON tournaments and played two finals in the years 2014 and 2016 respectively.
The WAFCON 2022 is set to kick off in a few days with an opening game between Morroco and Burkina Faso.
