Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute has reiterated the obligatory wearing of face masks by everyone in public places in Cameroon until further notice.

In an interministerial meeting this morning to evaluate the fight against coronavirus pandemic in Cameroon, the head of government regrets that many don’t longer wear face masks.

Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute has called on council officials to enforce the decision of imposing fines on people who violate the obligatory wearing of face masks.

The meeting chaired by the Prime Minister Friday July 10th, 2020, comes when most COVID-19 patients in the North West region of Cameroon are skeptical to take drugs prescribed in government hospitals in the region.

According to a statistical report made public July 7th by the North West regional delegate of public health, Dr. Kingsley Che Soh, some COVID-19 patients have opted for other medications rather than those provided by the national protocol for the fight against coronavirus. He adds that the habit has enormous negative impacts.
