West Region: Man kills his brother, swallows poison in Badja

A native of Baloum, a locality in the Badja Subdivision of the West Region has decapitated his brother to death with the use of a machete and went on to poison himself.

According to reports, the two brothers have been long-time sworn enemies who have had succession disputes over the years.

“The succession disputes started following the death of their father, some years ago,” a source told MMI.

While one accused the other of usurping the estate and hoarding property, the other accused his brother of being a jealous slacker.

One of the brothers, therefore, envisaging putting an end to the long term conflict decided to terminate their lives.

He engaged in a fight with his brother, after which he used a machete to decapitate the latter.

However, after taking the poisonous substance, he was immediately rushed to the hospital where he was handcuffed on the bed by the gendarme elements.

He was confirmed dead shortly after.

The names of the said brothers as of now, are unknown.
