The Fundong market in Boyo division of the North West region has been reduced aches, MMI has gathered.
This follows a fire disaster which erupted in the night breaking Friday February 3, 2023.
A release from Awoh Denis Ndang, Mayor of Fundong Council, stated that the destructive fire resulted from a short circuit.
According to the Mayor, a total of 56 sheds were affected.
“Night watch-men discovered the fire outbreak a little after midnight Friday February 3, 2023,” the release reads, adding that, “it was a few minutes after the return of electricity following a blackout suffered since 4pm on Thursday February 2, 2023.”
Extending words of thanks to the local population and the security forces for their timely intervention, the mayor announced an ‘assistance fund’ to victims of the disaster.
“…………an emergency assistance fund to assist the victims of the fire had been opened at the Fundong Council chambers,” the Mayor said.
