Cameroon’s Women’s Handball team is gearing up for a crucial quarter-final clash against Croatia today at 6 pm in the Scandinavium Arena, Gothenburg, Sweden, in the ongoing 26th edition of the World Women’s Handball Championship.

The team faced a significant setback on Thursday when they were defeated by Sweden 37-13.

The competition, hosted by Sweden, Norway and Denmark, has not been very promising for the Cameroonian side.

Despite a tough start in the first two group games, suffering losses to Hungary and Montenegro, Cameroon managed to secure a spot in the quarter-finals.

This was after a hard-fought victory against Paraguay, ending 26-23 on December 4.

Cameroon currently finds itself at the bottom of Group 1 in the quarter-finals, sharing the stage with formidable opponents Senegal, Croatia, Montenegro, Hungary, and host nation Sweden.

The competition has proven to be intense, with Sweden, Norway, Germany, and The Netherlands leading the four existing groups.

The Cameroonian team faces the challenge of regaining momentum and overcoming their recent setbacks as they battle at the quarter-finals.

Their fans are hopeful that the team can deliver a stellar performance and progress further in the championship, where 24 teams are now vying for the prestigious title.

Among the three African countries that made it to the quarter-finals, Angola stands out, earning 2 points after defeating Australia.

Senegal secured 1 point with a draw against Hungary.

The competition, organized by the International Handball Federation, started on November 29 and is set to end on December 17.
