The Divisional Officer (DO) for Douala 5 has issued a release authorising the holding of the September 22nd rally previewed by UNIVERS presidential candidate, Cabral Libii.

The DO in the communique recognised the necessity of the meeting taking place given that electoral campaigns are due to begin tomorrow Saturday. The DO called on Cabral Libii to collaborate with the management of Stade Cicam to ensure availability of the arena for the rally. His statement is coming after a decision from the Minister of Territorial Administration gave authorisation for the meeting to hold. The manager of Stade CICAM in an outing yesterday said the site would not host the rally unless Cabral Libii gets authorisation from competent authorities. He also claimed the site will be occupied which contradicted his initial assurance of the it’s availability.

After the Wouri SDO declared in a press conference that the rally will not hold since it was not authorised, this new twist is a big win for the youthful presidential candidate.
