Yaounde: ‘Divorcee’ wife sparks drama as husband attempts to remarry

A man in Simbock, Yaounde has run into problems after getting married for a second time.

Reports say he had been married before but later got engaged in a divorce process with his spouse.

While the process was yet to get complete, he took a second woman to the council for marriage.

Informed, his first wife is said to have visited the venue and caused a scene.

In a video trending on social media, she is seen screaming at the newly wedded couple telling them the marriage is null and void.

After several minutes of quarrels, the presiding Mayor is said to have invited security forces to intervene and restore order at the council premises.

“The Mayor who officialised the marriage said if truly the man had not divorced his first wife, then the second wedding would be annulled,” a witness explains.

The situation happened barely a week after another marital dispute still in Yaounde where a man and his would-be wife before the council failed to come to a consensus over their marital status.

While the groom opted for polygamy, the lady said she wanted monogamy. Both parties ended up going their separate ways.
