Yaounde :Passenger, bike rider perish in ghastly accident after attempting to overtake truck

A bike rider and his passenger have died in a ghastly road accident while attempting to over a truck in Yaounde, Centre region of Cameroon.

The tragic incident occurred early this morning in the Nkolbisson neighborhood in Yaoundé.

According to witnesses, a motorcycle heading towards Mokolo with three passengers on board tried to overtake a truck. The two-wheeled machine was unfortunately hit by the truck, leading to some deaths.

First reports from the field revealed that two persons, the driver and one of the passengers died on the spot while the second passenger, a woman was seriously injured and taken to hospital.

The administrative authorities and the gendarmerie of Yaoundé 7 were present on the ground.

The bodies were deposited at the central hospital of Yaoundé after identification.
