Yvan Kenmoé was appointed coach of the Under-20 Lions a few days ago by the President of the Cameroon Football Federation, Samuel Eto’o.
Now 26 years old, Yvan Kemnoé holds a Federal A license and a B license of the African Football Confederation.
Though just 26, Yvan is no stranger to the sport of football.
After having organized the holiday championship called “Festi Pegui” at the age of 12, he decided to create an academy known as Sims Academy.
Shortly before the culmination of this projects, he had clung to elders to obtain the rudiments of the coaching profession. “I gave my donut money to my sports teacher who had his coaching diplomas so that he could introduce me to training,” he stated.
When refresher training for obtaining the first football license was launched, he did not miss the opportunity. But things almost went wrong for him. He was rejected because He was still too young (16), but was finally admitted after one of the officials pleaded for him.
At the end of this course, he finished 9th among the 18 registered for the course. This is how it all began.
Yvan Kenmoé continued training both in Cameroon and abroad, in physical preparation and technical animation. These skills helped him make his team one of the most formidable in the Western Regional Championship.
He won the title of champion and represented the Region in the interpool tournament in 2018. He also recorded participations in the Cameroon Cup.
In his program to “give Cameroonian football back its greatness”, Samuel Eto’o, president of the Cameroonian Football Federation (Fecafoot) thinks that this young man will play a pivotal role.
He has thus raised him to the position of assistant national coach of the Indomitable Lions under 20.
More than just a promotion, it is also an opportunity to show that competence has no age.
