Mallam Danjuma aka DJ, a resident of Kumbo in the North West region of Cameroon has been killed.

Reports say his corpse was found mutilated in Kikaikelaki in Bui division, an ares considered to be one of the strongholds of separatist fighters in the region.

DJ was renowned for an interview he granted the UN during their visit to Ngar-buh in the Donga Mantung division after the February 14 Massacre that left over 35 dead including women and children.

Accusing fingers have since been pointed at the Cameroon government that has till date refuted reports of the massacre, insisting that its soldiers were not the perpetrators.

Since DJ’s death, many have taken to social media expressing their disappointment, with some placing the blame on the UN for failing to protect him after he testified regarding the massacre.

Other witnesses as well as survivors of the Ngarbuh massacre are said to have since fled the village for fear of being next.

Despite claiming it was not responsible for the massacre, government is currently carrying out an investigation on the killings.

Days ago, communication minister, Emmanuel Sadi accused rights group Human Rights Watch of having links with separatist fighters after it produced a report on the massacre stating that government was responsible.
