A woman whose name we got as Ngo Ndje Blandine has been beaten to death by yet to be identified individuals . She was killed at the Valleé St Thomas neighborhood in Logbaba of Doauala III Sub Division. Local reports say she was killed and her body dumped at the roadside, at about 8 p.m., Thursday July 30th 2020. Though her assassins are still at large, forces of law and order were on the site to assess the situation.
Women in Cameroon joined their peers accross Africa today July 31 to commemorate the 58th edition of the International Day of African woman under the theme “African women and the challenges of covid 19”. The 40km distance which use to be covered in less than an hour now takes more than 4 hours.
Fairs between Ndu and Nkambe have doubled as a result of this.

Coronavirus imposes behavioural changes with few Muslim faithfuls permitted to pray in Mosques in Douala to mark the feast of sacrifice. COVID-19 preventive measures such as; washing of hands, use of face masks and sanitisers strictly respected.

At least 15 cows belonging to people of Mbororo community reported to have been killed by separatist fighters in Konchep village, near Nkambe in Donga Mantung Division. The boys are alleged to have carried out the action to avenge the killing of their colleague by supposed Mbororos.
The army in the Democratic Republic of Congo is searching for a soldier who killed 13 people, including women and children, in the town of Uvira, in the east of the country. He was drunk at the time he shot them on Thursday night. Angry mobs demonstrated on Friday morning in the lakeside town to demand the personnel of the army battalion in the area be changed.

The charity Save the Children says escalating ethnic violence in the Sudanese region of Darfur has forced it to close two health facilities and a field office, depriving 14,000 children of essential services. A drunken soldier in the Democratic Republic of Congo has opened fire on passers-by, killing at least 12 people and wounding several others. One of the victims is reported to have been a two-year-old girl. The shooting took place on Thursday in South Kivu province in the east of the country.
Zambia’s football association, Faz, has cancelled the domestic league following a spike in Covid-19 cases. Faz General Secretary Adrian Kashala said the league would end on 6 August by which time all teams would have played 27 rounds of matches. The league resumed two weeks ago after it was prematurely suspended in March over concerns about the coronavirus pandemic.
